A reflection on intimacy to celebrate Pride Month
During the Pride Month, Vogue Polska takes a closer look at relations in all shapes and sizes. In her article titled “Configurations of relations”, Anna Sańczuk presents different concepts of intimacy and, together with the stars of our photo shoot, wonders what truly defines intimacy in everyday life. We talk to Valerie Steele about the queer history of fashion and examine the work of Jacek Gleba, a designer, whose fashion designs reflect queer love, human body, and his own encounters with the history of culture. In her article titled “Configurations of relations”, Anna Sańczuk examines different concepts of intimacy. The stars of our photo shoot reveal how they nurture intimacy in their practice of everyday life. “Janka and I have an exceptionally close bond. What is particularly interesting is that apart from understanding, love, and acceptance, we both have a female perspective,” says Maja Ostaszewska about her 17-year-old daughter. Agnieszka Rosa and her husband Adam are together since their teenage years; their differences and the way they complement each other is what brings them together. Maciek Edelman and Marcin “Cincior” Jędrzejewski, on the other hand, have a relationship where a sense of togetherness does not rule out the need for personal space. Katarzyna Baumiller, an interior designer, and her 19-year-old son Stanisław stress the importance of mutual trust in their relationship. Twins Maja Sławińska and Róża Sławińska argue that even though they lead separate lives, they still need each other very much.
