Thew new issue zooms on Nordic design
The main theme of the new edition of Vogue Polska Living is Nordic design — restrained, functional, and yet soothing and harmonious. It fits perfectly not only in the raw climate of Denmark, Sweden, or Finland, but also in the Polish region of Masuria. In her editorial, Hanna Rydlewska, the editor-in-chief, refers to this issue of the magazine as “a Northern edition”, which may seem extravagant for a summer magazine, but should not be surprising: we walk our own paths, share our private fascinations, and talk about designs that can truly reshape your life.
The interior presented on the cover of the magazine belongs to a summer house of Zuza Kuczyńska and Wojtek Borecki. “They nestled the building in the Masurian woods, letting pines, spruces, and maples almost penetrate the interior through high glass walls,” writes Maria Fredro-Smoleńska, discovering that there was no famous architect behind the concept of the interior. “Letting someone else design our house would deprive us of what we like most — our own style of work and its effects,” say the protagonists of the article, who filled the interior with vintage rarities from the 1970s, porous rock recovered from the seabed, and wooden furniture handcrafted by the house owner.
